Overview As a Packaging buyer, you will play a critical role in supporting the European Packaging Procurement team in driving operational excellence and maintaining procurement process with rigor and discipline. Based in our Barcelona Hub, you will collaborate closely with Category Managers, internal supply centers, and our BES support teams to ensure continuity of service, data accuracy, and vendor performance. You’ll be at the heart of the day-to-day procurement activities, helping bring to life the strategies that support the most iconic spirits brands in the world. This is an ideal opportunity for an early-professional, with strong analytical skills, system agility, action-oriented, and a desire to grow into a sourcing or category management role over time.
Responsibilities
Support Packaging Category Managers with day-to-day activities including vendor onboarding, SAP system management – purchase order accuracy, price maintenance, good receipt accuracy
Help to ensure supply continuity for the FR, IT and UK supply centres and co-packers for packaging categories (such as glass, labels, closures, shippers, secondary packaging)
Data & Reporting
Contribute to data analysis and reporting on supplier performance across European plants and co-packers
Help to track costs and can support on PPV (Purchasing Price Variance) tracking
Ensuring accurate pricing and data maintenance in SAP and other systems
Contribute to dashboards and data analysis using Excel, SAP and BI tools
Is key user of key tools (SAP, PowerBI, Taulia, CoMas, ScanMarket, One Pack...) with a process mindset
Participate in low-complexity sourcing projects (innovations / NPDs and Design to Value projects), including regular updates of projects status into Provalido
Can support regional tenders’ preparations and analysis under guidance of Category Managers
Key stakeholders
Serve as the go-to point of contact for Europe Packaging Procurement Managers
Collaborate closely with BES for master data integrity, pricing updates, OA management & issue resolutions
Collaborate closely with Finance Team
Can manage packaging related documentation and coordinate with local suppliers on technical or logistical queries
Education
Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics. Specialization in Purchasing or a CIPS qualification is preferred.
Experience
1-2 years+ experience in procurement or supply chain roles, ideally with experience in packaging materials
Proven track record in delivering Procurement objectives (tenders, projects, strategies)
Experience supporting innovation, sustainability initiatives.
Languages
Fluency in English required.
Proficiency in Spanish, French and / or Italian is highly beneficial.
