Introduction

The Solution Development team develops complex solutions for the distribution market. Our talented System Designers are committed to solving the next challenge and enhancing Vanderlande’s competitive position.
What will you be doing
As a System Designer, you will specify and design multidisciplinary functions used worldwide in our logistics systems. Your design will be implemented by a team of specialists you closely cooperate with. You will partner with platform and product architects and system integration teams, carrying responsibility for the final release(s) of your modules and their functions.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for multidisciplinary functional design of a module, from initial requirements set by the Product Architect to delivery of the tested function to the integrator.
* Work in a multidisciplinary team of specialists in Mechanical, Electronics, Electro-Mechanics, PLC, and Software. Design functions that fit Vanderlande’s technology standards or define requirements for missing parts.
* Manage requirements by writing specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports using tools like Polarion, Enterprise Architect, Jira.
* Use Model-Based Design techniques for functionalities involving complex parcel movement or flow control, defining requirements and conceptual design choices.
What do we ask from you?
You have a pragmatic, results-driven attitude, eager to learn and curious about new technologies.
* Relevant master’s degree in a technical field or proven equivalent experience.
* 3-5 years of relevant experience in designing multidisciplinary industrial systems.
* Ability to maintain overview and operate at various abstraction levels.
* Experience with Robotics and AI is a plus.
* Experience with product development cycles.
* Ability to persuade stakeholders and see the big picture while paying attention to details.
* Comfortable with uncertainty and unknowns.
* Experience with Model-based design using Matlab/Simulink is a plus.
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
