The University of Hong Kong seeks to appoint an Assistant Technical Manager (holding the functional title of Optometrist) in the Department of Ophthalmology, School of Clinical Medicine. The role will commence as soon as possible on a two‑year fixed‑term basis with contract‑end gratuity, totalling up to 10% of the basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Optometry and be a registered Optometrist (Part I) with The Optometrists Board of Hong Kong SAR under the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance. Those with relevant experience in research projects, clinical trials and large‑scale community projects would have advantages. They should be well‑organized, responsible, self‑motivated, with the ability to multi‑task and work independently as well as collaboratively as a team.
The appointee will be involved in large‑scale community‑based screening projects in various districts and in hospitals/clinics. He/She will support clinical services; perform ophthalmic examinations and investigations; assist in procurement and daily maintenance of the ophthalmic equipment and devices; and perform data collection and analysis.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
