Nutanix (NTNX) is looking for a motivated and results-oriented Manager, Systems Engineering to manage a team of Presales Systems Engineers as part of the sales organization to achieve revenue targets and ensure customer success. You’ll oversee the development and engagement of Systems Engineers who have responsibility for educating, consulting, assessing, architecting, and proposing Nutanix solutions with technical decision makers across all business segments. You’ll play an integral role in partnering with the Regional Directors, sales, product, and engineering teams to maximize the value of our Nutanix solutions and manage escalations for our customers and partners.
About the Team
Our Systems Engineering & Solution Sales organization is made up of over 800 customer-focused technical sales professionals responsible for identifying and matching technology opportunities with customer business issues and objectives, as well as channel partner training and enablement. This team acts in a consultative fashion and is regarded as experts by Nutanix sales, customer success, business partners, and customers.
Your Role
* Provide active coaching and talent development of SEs to enable each team member and ensure they meet sales targets and develop their skills.
* Work with Talent Acquisition to help recruit and hire new SEs into the respective territory.
* Support SEs in drafting assessments, preparing complex product specifications, installing custom solutions, and solving complex problems.
* Provide cross-functional escalation support to enhance customer/partner satisfaction.
* Establish and maintain communication across the sales organization to ensure collaboration.
* Assist staff in deal negotiations with end-users and/or channel partners.
* Develop relationships with technical leadership at customers/partners within the territory.
* Deliver roadmap/vision presentations to technical leadership within the territory.
* Support the technical sales cycle as a player/coach when needed.
* Manage team metrics, use skill criteria for hiring, development, and promotion, and conduct regular career conversations.
What You Will Bring
* 3+ years of management experience or equivalent.
* 5-7+ years of experience in a presales customer-facing technical role.
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with knowledge of Information Technology.
* Proven leadership skills and ability to guide teams to meet goals.
* Excellent people management skills, high empathy, and consideration for team morale and career growth.
* Technical experience with virtualization, data center consolidation, and server technologies.
* Ability to learn new technologies and communicate effectively at all levels, including C-level.
* Team player with a driven attitude.
* Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
* Structured thinker with presentation and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and execute detailed plans.
