Join Our Team: EMC Test Engineer / Technician (Madrid, Spain)What you can expectAt ALTER TECHNOLOGY's Equipment Testing and Certification Laboratory, located in Tres Cantos (Madrid), we are a trusted provider of product compliance services for highly demanding sectors such as Aerospace & Defense, Security, Industrial, and Rail.We are currently looking for Physics graduates, Engineers, and Electronic Technicians to join our Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) team.In this role, you will become part of a growing laboratory, contributing to expanding our technical capabilities while working hands-on with cutting-edge technologies.Your key responsibilities will include:
Preparing and analyzing test plans for electrical and electronic equipment, including radio technologies (GNSS, RFID, Wi Fi)Setting up and commissioning equipment under testDeploying laboratory instrumentation and test setupsOperating advanced test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, RF signal generators, and radio communication testersWorking with EMC test environments (anechoic chambers, RF antennas, reference planes)Using specialized lab software (Elektra, EMC32 – a plus)Executing test procedures and ensuring compliance with applicable standardsPreparing high-quality technical documentation and test reportsSupporting customers and updating test progress in internal systemsContributing to the development of new test capabilities and laboratory improvementsCollaborating on high-level technical projects in Space and Big Science sectors What we are looking forDegree or professional qualification in Electronics, Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or related fieldsExperience or knowledge in testing laboratories (ENAC-accredited and ISO 17025 environments are a strong plus)Familiarity with EMC and RED directives (2014/30/EU, 2014/53/EU)Knowledge of standards such as:
Railway: EN 50155, EN 50121Radio: ETSI EN 300 / EN 301 seriesSubstations: EN 60255, EN 61850IT/Multimedia: EN 55032, EN 55024 Additional knowledge (a plus):
