The HCM Business Analyst Role
The HCM Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Sales and Business Consulting teams by providing deep technical expertise in specific domain or product areas. This role involves collaborating with internal teams to answer technical queries, review deals, introduce new products or processes, and support strategy development. Additionally, the Domain Specialist will engage in data analysis to enhance sales strategies, maintain business consulting tools, and offer direct support to sales engagements with prospects when highly specialized knowledge is required. This is a hybrid role, balancing internal team support with client-facing engagements to drive deal success whenever necessary.
Key Duties / Tasks
1. Sales and Business Consulting support
* Technical expertise:
Serve as the go-to resource for answering complex technical questions from Sales and Business Consulting teams, ensuring they are equipped with accurate and timely information.
* Deal reviews:
Partner with APLs, sales, and Business Consulting associates to review deal strategy, provide technical knowledge, and ensure proposed solutions align with customer needs and product capabilities.
* New product and process introduction:
Support the introduction of new products, features, or internal processes by developing communication strategies and training materials, providing presentations, and supporting the transition for Business Consultants and Sales.
* Knowledge distributor:
Consistently spread knowledge across the organization (advisor role) and enable sales reps and BCs to deliver a "One ADP" experience for all clients and prospects.
* Content manager:
Manage and update database of questions and answers used for RFx responses in the domain of focus.
1. Data analysis and strategic support
* Data-driven insights:
Analyze internal and external datasets—sales performance, market trends, product usage, gaps—to support sales and pre-sales strategy and identify growth opportunities.
* Competitive knowledge:
Stay updated on market trends and ADP’s competitive intelligence to identify alternatives and remain competitive.
* Strategy recommendations:
Provide actionable insights to leadership based on data analysis to shape organizational strategy.
2. Client-facing support & specialized expertise
* Specialized client engagement:
Work directly with prospects alongside Business Consultants on complex technical challenges, solution designs, or product inquiries.
* Voice of sales data:
Capture feedback from prospects and report gaps identified during client activities.
* Pre-sales tools:
Support development and maintenance of tools like TCO estimators, benchmarks, etc.
* Process improvement:
Continuously evaluate and optimize internal processes.
* Training & documentation:
Provide training and documentation to ensure effective use of tools and processes.
Skills & Qualifications
* Fluent English (C2), strong technical writing skills, ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
* 3-5 years of relevant experience in roles like pre-sales, sales support, business analysis.
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, business, or related fields.
* Strong analytical skills;
experience with data analysis is mandatory.
* Problem-solving skills;
troubleshooting and critical thinking.
* Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
* Experience with multinational projects is a plus.
