Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
My client is a leader in disruptive video content delivery technology (MultiCDN) solutions used by streaming and broadcasting organizations worldwide. They are looking to expand their team by hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who combines software and systems engineering skills to build and operate large-scale, distributed systems. This key role in their growing cloud platform offers the possibility of remote work from anywhere within 2-3 hours of CET, with flexibility in start times to align with the team starting at 9am WET. There is also an option to relocate to Tenerife, Spain.

What You Will Find in This Position
We seek a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help scale and secure our AWS-based infrastructure. Responsibilities include building reliable infrastructure, enhancing observability with Grafana, and implementing security best practices. Ideal candidates will have some professional experience in cloud environments and a passion for learning and ownership.
Responsibilities
* Improve service monitoring and automation to detect problems promptly.
* Design and maintain reliable cloud architecture with minimal downtime.
* Develop and monitor security policies for services.
* Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, code, configurations, and data.
* Document and share knowledge within the team.
* Stay updated with the latest DevOps tools and strategies.
Candidate Expectations
* Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
* Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
* Experience in designing, building, and operating large-scale production systems.
* Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
* Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes).
* Support security practices like IAM, secrets management, and VPC isolation.
* Participate in incident response and postmortem processes.
* Experience with source control systems (Git, GitLab).
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
* Strong troubleshooting skills and a team-oriented mindset.
* Proactive in improving workflows and willing to take on challenges.
While flexibility exists in work schedules, some hours are preferred for team synchronization, typically between 09:00 and 13:00 Western European Summer Time.
Nice to Have Skills
* Experience with serverless architectures (AWS).
* Knowledge of open-source databases/message brokers (Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
* Experience with performance and security testing.
* Familiarity with container technologies (ECS, EKS, Docker).
* Contributions to security or observability initiatives.
* Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
* Experience in collaborative DevOps or SRE cultures.
