Discover Impactful Work : The Medical Director will provide medical support and medical advice for clinical trials and safety evaluation within the Pharmacovigilance department.
A day in the Life :
1. Provide medical leadership to study teams, including creating clinical trial protocols, contributing to site selection, review and approval of study protocols and amendments, CSRs, ICFs, CRFs, protocol deviations, and other clinical documents.
2. Real-time Medical Monitoring of clinical studies: ensure medical validity of primary endpoints and subject safety, identify issues early, and consult with the Global Medical Indication Lead for corrections.
3. Review protocols, support staff, and internal groups regarding procedural and budgetary items, and address protocol amendments. Serve as liaison between sponsor and internal departments, educate investigators, and handle day-to-day trial activities.
4. Medical point of contact for stakeholders: interact with investigators, answer questions from IRBs and Health Authorities, prepare and present materials, and provide training to site staff and CRAs.
5. Ensure compliance with SOPs and GCP for all medical aspects.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to clarify medical risks, issues, and results.
Candidates considered for Senior level Medical Director should have strategic development experience.
Education: MD, MB/BS or equivalent, with clinical experience in Rheumatology.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
* Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, clinical trials, and pharmaceutical medicine.
* Fluency in spoken and written English.
* Experience with NDA submission process and understanding of regulatory guidelines for adverse event reporting.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, team-oriented.
