Offer Description
To analyze the evolutionary history of South American native ungulates throughout the Cenozoic by integrating morphofunctional and phylogenetic data. The goal is to identify major patterns of diversification, ecological adaptation, and macroevolutionary trends within key lineages. This study is based on the combined use of curated paleontological collections, a critical review of relevant literature, and the application of comparative evolutionary models. Such an integrative approach aims to place the evolutionary history of these groups within broad temporal frameworks, assessing their responses to environmental, geographic, and biological changes across the Cenozoic.
Experience in publications on faunas, evolution of native South American ungulates during the Cenozoic.
Specific Requirements
I am looking for a candidate with a background in vertebrate paleontology and experience in morphofunctional and phylogenetic analysis of fossil ungulates. The candidate should be proficient in evolutionary tools (R, TNT, etc.), experienced with scientific collections and literature review, and demonstrate strong synthesis skills, scientific communication in both English and Spanish, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
