Job Title: API Product Manager, DGE
Summary:
The API Product Manager will lead, in collaboration with R&D, the development, publication, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of our Amadeus Hospitality Digital APIs. Reporting to the Director of Digital Guest Experiences, the candidate will formulate and execute the overall Digital API product vision and strategy, promote adoption, and oversee the entire product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define the overall vision and execute the API product strategy and roadmap for all Amadeus Hospitality, working closely with stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into product requirements, overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle to deliver a comprehensive API Product suite into market.
2. Oversee the lifecycle of the API products, from inception to launch and ongoing performance optimization, collaborating with cross-functional teams including commercial, product, operations, and engineering.
3. Develop and maintain comprehensive product documentation.
4. Act as a bridge between business and engineering teams, effectively communicating the value and capabilities of APIs to non-technical stakeholders and translating business needs to engineering teams.
5. Ensure the API products meet high standards of usability, functionality, and reliability; monitor performance, gather data, and use insights to improve APIs.
6. Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and collaborate with other Amadeus business units to leverage insights and align strategies.
About the Ideal Candidate:
1. BSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or relevant fields in Business, e-commerce/travel with a focus on technology.
2. 3+ years proven experience as an API Product Manager or more than 10 years in digital product management.
3. Strong knowledge of e-commerce or travel API design and development; familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, or C# is a plus.
4. Understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
5. Proficiency with tools like MS 365 Suite, Copilot, JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
6. Strong understanding of API technologies, including REST, SOAP, and GraphQL protocols; programming knowledge is preferred but not essential.
7. English fluency required; French and Spanish are a plus.
