The OpportunityPROXA is looking for a Business Development Manager to develop its presence in Spain and Portugal.This is a highly autonomous role for someone who enjoys building a market, developing client relationships, and leading complex technical sales processes .You will be responsible for driving commercial growth in the region, working closely with engineering and operations teams to deliver tailored water treatment solutions to industrial customers.

Your ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop new business opportunities across Spain and PortugalBuild strong relationships with plant managers, technical directors, procurement and engineering teamsUnderstand customer water & wastewater challenges and translate them into tailored solutionsSupport conceptual design for temporary, hybrid (rental + CAPEX) and DBFMO projectsConduct site visits and technical discussions with client engineering teamsCollaborate with engineering teams to develop technical proposalsLead negotiations and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract closureEnsure smooth handover to operations after contract awardFollow project performance and customer satisfaction to support long-term account developmentIdentify upselling, cross-selling and repeat business opportunitiesMonitor market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming industrial projectsRepresent Proxa at industry events, trade fairs, and technical conferences

Your Profile5–10+ years of experience in industrial B2B technical salesDegree in Engineering preferred, or a strong technical background with solid understanding of water and wastewater treatment technologiesExperience in project-based sales and multi-stakeholder environmentsRelevant background in industrial sectors such as mining, chemicals, metals, energy, oil & gas, pulp & paper, or similar environmentsPrevious involvement in industrial services, rental solutions or EPC environments is a plusStrong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skillsEntrepreneurial and able to work independentlyFluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plusWillingness to travel frequently across the country
