The role
Due to the growth of our business, we are looking for a Senior PHP Backend Developer to join our team. You’ll be responsible for the development of our core business payment backend applications in collaboration with your agile team partners. You will evolve in a highly technical environment with challenging service interactions and payment protocol implementation.
- Work with product managers to design, develop, test, and implement solutions using an iterative, agile methodology.
- Collaborate with the design team to build reusable code and modules.
- Identify gaps in the backend core services layer to achieve desired functionality.
- Analyze business requirements and determine technical feasibility.
- Design and perform unit and integration testing.
- Debug and fix defects found during continuous integration.
- Coordinate code reviews with peer developers and the release team to maintain standards and quality.
- Provide engineering support for customer issues and general problem solving.
- Maintain and improve the quality and test suite.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Bootcamp and/or Computer Science related study.
- Master’s degree is a plus.
Job Experience
- 5 years of experience as a PHP backend developer.
- Experience in the payment industry.
- Strong knowledge of REST based backend technologies.
- In‑depth knowledge of development tools: Git, GitLab, Redmine, Docker, CI/CD.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Java/Spring Boot is a huge plus.
- English language proficiency – technical level mandatory.
Software Engineer
Location: Remote in Spain
Contract: Permanent, with the end client
What You’ll Do
- Develop and evolve a Data & AI Platform as a sovereign cloud service.
- Design system architecture and integrate open‑source technologies.
- Build REST APIs and Kubernetes operators to automate cloud services.
- Take ownership in an agile team: you build it – you run it.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
What You Bring
- Passion for BI, AI and cloud technologies.
- Strong background in software development, especially Golang.
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
