Aistech Space is focused on generating affordable, recurrent, high resolution thermal imagery of the planet to provide a new perspective of Earth’s changing resources. The company is based in Barcelona and aims to revolutionize remote sensing for environmental monitoring and resource management.
What you will do:
Aistech Space is looking for a DevOps/Platform Engineer to serve as a technical catalyst for our entire software organization. In this role, you will act as a force multiplier by removing operational friction from the development lifecycle, designing and providing the self-service infrastructure tools and automated workflows that allow every engineer in the company to deploy and manage their services independently. You will bridge the gap between platform engineering and product delivery, ensuring that our high-speed infrastructure and application code evolve in perfect harmony to support our mission of revolutionizing Earth observation.
Drive Company-Wide Infrastructure:
Take ownership of the cloud-native infrastructure (GCP) that powers our entire software organization. You will ensure our environments are modular, reproducible, and ready to scale as our satellite constellation grows.
Enable Engineering Autonomy:
Your primary goal is to remove operational friction. You will design and provide the
self-service infrastructure tools
and automated workflows that allow any developer to provision and manage their own services independently.
Evolve the Stack:
Maintain and improve our current
OpenTofu/Terragrunt
and
Argo CD
ecosystems. You will evaluate and implement architectural improvements to keep our platform at the cutting edge of reliability and efficiency.
Define Reliability & Security Standards:
Architect zero-trust security (OpenBao, Keycloak) and comprehensive observability into the automated deployment lifecycle, ensuring the most secure and reliable path is also the easiest one for developers to follow.
Who you are:
The Must-Haves:
The "Enabler" Mindset:
Proven experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering. You measure your success by the velocity of your peers and view other developers as your primary customers.
IaC & GitOps Expert:
Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code ( Terraform/OpenTofu ) and GitOps methodologies ( Argo CD ). You understand how to manage state and complexity in a layered architecture.
Kubernetes Orchestrator:
Strong hands-on experience with
Kubernetes
(GKE) and configuration management (Kustomize/Helm).
Communication & Partnership:
You are a proactive communicator who advocates for solutions that empower others rather than processes that block them.
The Nice-to-Haves:
Proficient in
Python/Golang. You are comfortable reading, writing, and refactoring application code, not just writing automation scripts.
Nix/Nix flakes:
Familiarity with functional package management and reproducible development environments.
Security & Mesh Tooling:
Experience with
OpenBao (Vault) ,
Kong API Gateway, or
Keycloak .
Geospatial Awareness:
Background or interest in geospatial data standards such as
STAC, STAPI
