Technical Content Writer (Backend) at BairesDev
We need a part-time, contract Technical Content Writer focused on backend engineering topics for our blog. Output is 1 to 2 long-form ghostwritten articles per month, written for senior technical audiences and optimized for SEO without sounding generic or promotional. You must be able to research complex backend concepts, validate claims, and translate engineering reality into clear, structured articles with practical examples. Scope is backend broadly: APIs, services, data stores, performance, reliability, security basics, and production operations.
What You'll Do
* Write 2–3 backend-focused long-form blog articles per month, typically 1,500–2,500 words unless otherwise specified.
* Convert complex backend topics into practical, readable guidance with clear structure, examples, and trade-offs.
* Ensure technical correctness by validating terminology, architecture claims, performance/security statements, and gotchas.
* Incorporate SEO fundamentals naturally, including search intent alignment, headings, internal linking suggestions, and meta title/description suggestions if requested.
* Revise drafts based on editorial feedback while preserving accuracy and clarity.
What we are looking for
* Proven experience writing long-form technical content for engineering audiences, such as blog/editorial, not brand copy.
* Backend technical fluency from hands-on engineering experience.
* Ability to independently research, sanity-check, and cite sources while avoiding unverified claims.
* Clear, direct written English suitable for a professional engineering blog.
Must-haves
* Proven ability to write long-form backend engineering content for senior technical audiences. Portfolio required.
* Demonstrated senior-level thinking: can explain trade-offs, constraints, and failure modes, not just definitions.
* Deep expertise in 2–3 backend domains such as API design, distributed systems, databases/data modeling, performance/reliability, observability, or messaging/queues.
* Ability to research efficiently and maintain technical accuracy with no unsupported claims or invented metrics.
