Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer
The RoleInsureTech is seeking a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer to lead and support application systems development and maintenance projects. The role involves providing strategic tools across Charles Taylor's business and clients, enabling efficient and accurate work. The developer will recommend, develop, and implement technology solutions to support our commitment to 100% Customer Satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate and embody Charles Taylor's six core values: Supportive Environment, Excellence in People, Partnership with Clients, High-Quality Work, Entrepreneurship, and Change Management.
* Develop high-level and detailed specifications for Data Migration.
* Create and maintain database PL/SQL scripts, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
* Develop unit test cases and perform testing of database scripts.
* Ensure coding standards and programming techniques are followed through technical reviews.
* Support and mentor junior developers.
* Assist in defining user requirements and developing functional specifications.
* Design systems architecture, database functionality, and application features for complex systems.
* Provide expertise on systems development, including databases, application architecture, and Oracle technologies.
* Estimate programming and design tasks, contributing to project planning.
* Monitor and implement technology upgrades and updates, communicating new features to users.
Required Skills
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification.
* At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in enterprise applications using TDD.
* Proven experience in developing applications with PL/SQL and SQL in Oracle 11g/12c.
* Experience with packages, triggers, procedures, and materialized views.
* Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts and database design in Oracle 11g/12c.
* Ability to review and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code for performance.
* Basic scripting knowledge in Unix or Windows environments.
* Experience working in Agile development settings.
* Oracle certification preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of the insurance industry.
* Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
