Principal Architect We are currently seeking a Principal Architect to lead the development of architectural strategies, standards, and best practices that support integrations with the Sage Network Platform.
As a Principal Architect at Sage, you will collaborate with technical and non-technical teams across multiple geographies, taking ownership of software design and governance for various products to help achieve Sage’s long-term goals.
NOTE:
This role is hybrid and will require you to work 3 days a week from our Barcelona office.
Responsabilidades principales
Lead architectural strategies, standards, and design for complex projects, supporting both internal and third‑party integrations.
Contribute to strategic planning and technical roadmaps while overseeing risk management and mitigation.
Own product governance while defining and enforcing architectural best practices and guidelines.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align architecture with business goals while mentoring engineers and junior architects.
Drive and support innovation by providing guidance on ideas and helping turn them into reality.
Requirements
Proven experience in architectural design and development, with a track record of leading large‑scale architecture projects.
Strong understanding of architectural design principles and best practices.
Demonstrated expertise with modern software architecture principles, including microservices, CQRS, event sourcing, and domain‑driven design (DDD).
Expert in creating API‑first products with strong knowledge of security architecture and system integration.
Experience in cloud services and hands‑on development with Java (Spring, Spring Boot, Vert.x, Micronaut); knowledge of Ruby on Rails is a plus.
