This full-time role is ideal for experienced Quantity Surveyors looking to take on responsibility across multiple project phases - from cost planning and estimating to reporting and contract management. You'll play a vital role in project performance, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and commercial control.
Key Responsibilities:
* Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
* Support project P&L management in line with delegated authority levels.
* Assist with estimating and tender preparation, using cost data to monitor project performance.
* Contribute to project planning, cost analysis, and the pricing of additional works or contract variations.
* Assess client requirements, review available options, and ensure proposals meet budget, legal, and quality standards.
* Prepare cost plans, estimates, and cash flow projections; support procurement and advise on bills of quantity.
* Coordinate with commercial managers on contractual correspondence and document formatting.
* Assist in resolving final account meetings, loss and expense claims, and commercial disputes.
* Conduct feasibility studies, risk/value management assessments, and escalate commercial concerns as needed.
* Calculate monthly valuations, generate client invoices, and assist credit control with payment recovery.
* Provide accurate and timely Work in Progress (WIP) reports to monitor performance against budgets.
* Review cost data and report discrepancies to the Senior Quantity Surveyor or Contract Manager.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
* Minimum 5 years' experience in civil and utilities project environments.
* Proven experience with P&L responsibility, tendering, estimating, WIP reporting, and contract administration.
* Strong understanding of Irish construction law and contract standards (e.g., NEC, FIDIC, or public works contracts).
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage competing deadlines.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Excel, MS Project, or similar).
* Full driver's licence required.
