Scopely is looking for a Technical Artist Manager to serve on and elevate our new casual game, Monopoly GO! team in Seville on an hybrid basis. What You Will Do
The Technical Art Manager will lead a team to produce work at the highest level of quality and difficulty. And work closely with the team to advance that team forward both individually and structurally.
They have a proven track record of resolving the most complex reaching challenges in relationship to content construction, pipeline management and leading edge visuals.
1. Managing a team of Technical Artists
2. Defining content aspirations for the team
3. Improving and evolving production and organization structures
4. Identifying and or selecting tools and technologies to enhance the content creation process.
5. Collaborate with other technical and aesthetic experts within the company to define clear goals for the toolset, pipeline and construction processes
6. Collaborates with the art team on establishing shared Art best practices
7. Participates in setting strategic vision for content
8. Works with the other content producers to ensure proper game performance and optimizations
9. Identifies and tests external 3rd party tools that would help maintain our leading edge in content constructions and visuals
10. Identifies and executes on the most difficult content creation problems for the project
11. Identifies and executes solutions to Pipeline and technology deficiencies within the team
12. Research future solutions or cutting-edge content technologies
13. Reviews pipelines and content creation process to identify best practices
What We're Looking For
14. 6 or more years experience in large game studios
15. 2 or more years of team management experience
16. Minimum 2-year 2D/3D art degree, architecture degree, or equivalent with excellent critique and vocabulary skills. BFA or equivalent preferred
17. Strong technical proficiency in understanding proprietary tools and technology
18. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
19. Must be familiar with the majority of modern 3D software packages (Maya, Substance, zBrush
20. Strong understanding of the game development process
21. Strong understanding of methods of optimizing game art assets for game engines and optimizing pipelines and processes
22. Strong understanding of C#/Scripting Languages or similar systems required
23. A Strong understanding of modern 3d engines and the technology behind them
24. Solid experience and understanding of art/animation pipelines on modern game console
25. Up to date knowledge of current art techniques and development processes
26. Ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines
27. Diligence with individual and team tasks, schedule and adherence to budget limitations
28. Strong interest in computer or video games
29. Strong Troubleshooting skills
30. Positive attitude and a desire to bring new ideas to the team
