Your Role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Spain. In this role, you will oversee the full accounting cycle, ensure compliance with Spanish GAAP (PGC), manage tax obligations, audits, and financial reporting, and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities Oversee the end-to-end accounting cycle, including invoicing, bookkeeping, budget control, and statutory and consolidated compliance.
Manage and supervise day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all accounting records.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with Spanish GAAP (PGC).
Ensure the timely preparation, submission, and payment of all tax obligations (VAT, Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Taxes, etc.), liaising with external advisors and authorities when required.
Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Treasury, and Bank reconciliations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with internal policies.
Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, ensuring optimal liquidity management and financing of business operations.
Support and coordinate external audits, ensuring full compliance, transparency, and effective collaboration with auditors.
Design, implement, and monitor robust internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard assets, ensure segregation of duties, and maintain proper authorization levels.
Conduct variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, identifying risks, opportunities, and corrective actions, while providing clear and actionable insights to management.
Act as a business partner to cross-functional teams (Operations, Commercial, R&D;, Engineering), promoting financial awareness and accountability across the organization.
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, including automation, ERP optimization, and the use of data analytics and business intelligence tools.
Ensure strict adherence to company policies, ethical standards, local regulations, and best practices in financial reporting and control.
What You Bring Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
A Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ROAC in Spain) will be considered a strong plus.
Experience & Skills Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar finance role, ideally within an international environment.
In-depth knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PGC) and IFRS, with proven expertise in applying these standards.
Solid experience in tax compliance, financial audits, and statutory and consolidated reporting in Spain.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate it effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and demonstrated ability to work with large and complex datasets.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, external auditors, and tax authorities.
High level of integrity, ethics, and attention to detail, with a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is required.
