We are seeking an Accountant based in Barcelona.
The job holder is a member of the UK/IE European Financial Accounting team at the Air Products Shared Service Center in Cornellà, Spain. In cooperation with the Team Leader, the accountant is responsible for all key compliance deadlines of the Air Products legal entities in UK/IE.
Responsibilities include:
* Timely and accurate data preparation on a local GAAP basis for external reporting to Tax Authorities, Auditors, and the Statistical Office. The role also involves working with the Team Leader on timely monthly reporting for US GAAP in accordance with the Company’s Month-end Closing schedule.
* Preparation of local GAAP Statutory Accounts for Air Products legal entities in UK/IE, including working papers and schedules for the Statutory year-end audit, aiming for a clean audit opinion.
* Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations monthly or quarterly, ensuring all are completed and filed correctly, collaborating with peer groups or other functional areas as needed.
* Setting priorities and work plans within the overall framework of the Finance accounting group and corporate deadlines, under the supervision of the Team Leader.
Qualifications and Skills:
* University degree in Financial Accounting or a related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in preparing annual accounts, preferably in accordance with FRS102/IFRS.
* Experience working in an international team of accountants.
* Effective communication skills in a large, multi-disciplinary environment.
Nice to Have:
* Knowledge of US GAAP.
* Experience with SAP.
* Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
