The candidate would support DEIMOS in several projects reporting to the head of AIT Competence Centre and will work collaboratively with team members across the company. The AIT Competence Centre is responsible for overall planning, execution, and reporting for space systems, satellite platforms, and ground segments, from initial concept definition through on-orbit operations. Currently, DEIMOS is working on projects for ESA and the commercial market to provide advanced technologies for earth observation, communication satellites, and scientific missions.
Main Duties :
The person in this position would support DEIMOS on current and upcoming projects related to RF and AIT activities for space systems, ground systems, and satellite platforms. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, defining RF plans, designing procedures and reports, supporting requirement verification, aiding on-orbit operations, conducting analyses and simulations, supporting AIT planning for other company areas, and collaborating directly with the Project Office (PMO).
Education :
Mandatory MSc in Telecommunications Engineering, with registration eligibility in the COIT.
Professional Experience :
1-3 years in a relevant position.
Technical Requirements :
The candidate should possess some, but not necessarily all, of the following skills:
* Definition and dimensioning for new satellite and ground station applications, focusing on SDR (Software Defined Radio) technology.
* Knowledge of communication system concepts (modulation schemes, coding, RF propagation, diversity techniques, multiplexing, filtering, etc.).
* Contributing to the development of contractual documentation related to project milestones.
* Planning, performing, and reviewing RF test measurements (signal generators, analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.) in the space sector.
* Strong understanding of RF, antenna, and link budgets.
* Experience in functional, EMC, TVAC, and mechanical testing (at least two types).
* Knowledge of spacecraft systems and subsystems.
* Hands-on approach to cross-functional technical issues.
* Knowledge of low-level integration and testing techniques.
* Experience handling space hardware and working in clean rooms.
* Experience in technical and project documentation writing.
* Experience with LEOP and flight commissioning operations.
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Java, Matlab, especially related to RF systems, with a proactive and autonomous approach.
* Technical writing experience following ECSS, CCSDS, or other space standards.
Language Skills :
English (minimum B2 level).
