The Inside Sales Engineer works closely with our sales and management teams to develop technically sound solutions that help us secure every opportunity we quote. This role strikes the idóneo balance between the technical and commercial aspects of our business. In collaboration with a Territory Sales Engineer, the Inside Sales Engineer manages customer relationships, ensures timely and accurate order fulfillment and returns, oversees stock flow, and communicates effectively to drive sales growth within the assigned territory.
This career development role offers a fixed annual salary between of €35,000 plus a discretionary bonus of up to €10,000.
Key Responsibilities Customer Account Management
Respond to specialized technical inquiries regarding our products and customer needs, including e-shop support.
Assist both existing and prospective maxon customers.
Provide quotations, pricing, technical sales support, product sizing, and troubleshooting.
Prepare and review sales and purchase orders; verify customer POs for accuracy and log them in the CRM.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships, including occasional travel to Switzerland (approx. 1–2 weeks per year).
Provide backup support to Sales Engineers as needed.
Identify and develop new customer relationships and sales opportunities through online research, trade shows, and industry publications.
Participate in regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales strategies.
Order Management
Determine delivery schedules and decide whether to fulfill orders from inventory or via factory production.
Monitor order status, communicate updates to customers, and expedite shipments when necessary.
Factory Communication
Coordinate with the factory on pricing, delivery timelines, order processing, and special requests.
Manage Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs).
Sales Forecasting
Prepare and update monthly and annual sales forecasts.
Proactively support customers with reorders to meet their production schedules.
Minimum Requirements Education
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience
1–2 years of experience in sales and the automation industry (PLC, motion control, motors, etc.).
Languages
English: C1 level minimum, with fluency in both commercial and technical contexts.
