Job Description
The Cost Controller manages and optimizes the hotel's operating costs, ensuring accurate purchasing and inventory records, especially for Food & Beverage (F&B). Responsibilities include maintaining the purchasing system, implementing cost controls, and preparing financial reports. The role involves analyzing cost over sales ratios and participating in monthly closing processes to contribute to profitability and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Record product deliveries and F&B invoices in the accounting system.
2. Implement and improve cost control procedures.
3. Ensure compliance with purchasing and inventory documentation and authorization processes.
4. Process F&B accruals accurately in the system.
5. Monitor inventory levels and accuracy according to operational needs.
6. Maintain and update the purchasing system with correct prices and supplier information.
7. Reconcile inventory reports, resolve discrepancies, and verify physical counts and costs.
8. Participate in month-end reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of inventory and costs.
9. Prepare and submit daily, monthly, and annual cost reports.
10. Analyze cost over sales ratios to identify opportunities for cost optimization and profitability improvement.
Qualifications
- University degree in hospitality, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar hospitality role.
- Fluency in Spanish; English is a plus.
- Ability to manage financial issues, solve complex problems, and make effective decisions.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect company assets.
