Social Media (Sr.) Manager - Maternity Cover - Sailmaking

Overview :
The Social Media Manager (Maternity Cover) will oversee the global social media strategy at North Sails (sailmaking), ensuring continued engagement, brand consistency, and lead generation across all platforms and markets. This temporary role requires a strong leader who can seamlessly take over key responsibilities, managing daily social content, and strategic campaigns.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, experienced in content planning and execution, and adept at analyzing social insights to optimize performance. They must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, particularly as this period includes major events and marketing initiatives.
Primary Purpose :
* Maintain and execute the global social media strategy, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations during the maternity cover period.
* Oversee and support the Social Media Coordinator, ensuring consistency across all platforms and regions.
* Drive audience engagement and brand awareness through high-quality content, performance analysis, and community management.
* Collaborate closely with global communications, local marketing teams, and internal stakeholders to optimize social media content for North Sails’ key audiences.
* Manage social insights reporting to track engagement, reach, and conversions, providing strategic recommendations.
* Ensure alignment between social media content and key business objectives, including marketing campaigns, product launches, and major sailing events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Content & Social Media Management :
* Manage, create, and publish original, high-quality content daily.
* Oversee content strategy across all social media channels.
* Maintain 24 / 7 social media monitoring and engagement.
* Act as the primary point of contact for all social media-related content and activities.
* Approve all social media captions.
* Develop and execute plans for Tier 1 event coverage, including live content.
* Oversee global social coverage from brief to post-event reporting.
Paid & Organic Social Strategy :
* Run and optimize paid social media advertising campaigns.
* Monitor the North Sails brand on social media, managing mentions and messages.
* Implement best practices for platform engagement and audience growth.
* Use social media marketing tools for performance tracking.
* Analyze performance data to determine campaign success and adjust strategies accordingly.
* Work closely with the Marketing team to align social content with broader marketing objectives.
* Represent the Marketing team in Group social media meetings / discussions.
* Provide guidance and oversight for local marketing teams’ social activity.
* Manage online communities to ensure appropriate engagement and brand voice consistency.
* Train internal teams on social media best practices to maintain a cohesive brand identity.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills :
* Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and campaign execution.
* Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics.
* Experience with paid social advertising and performance marketing.
* Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to a fast-moving environment.
* Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously.
* Proficiency in social media management tools (Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages a plus.
* A background in sailing or sports marketing is preferred.
This is a temporary maternity cover position with an expected start date in late July 2025 and an end date in January 2026.
