Royal A-ware, with over 130 years of experience in the dairy industry, is looking for an OT Engineer for our new mozzarella plant in Salas, Asturias. What will you do?
System Integration & Support
* Manage and maintain OIT infrastructure to support production, including servers, networks, plant applications, HMIs, Siemens PLCs, virtual machine environments, and SCADA systems (Wonderware / AVEVA and others).
* Ensure reliable connectivity between ERP/MES systems and shop-floor automation.
* Oversee data flow from production equipment into OT platforms for reporting and analysis.
Operational Intelligence & Data Management
* Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to monitor plant performance (yield, quality, downtime, energy use, etc.).
* Support predictive maintenance and process optimization through data analytics.
* Work with operations teams to identify and implement digital improvements.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
* Following headquarters OT instructions, implement OT security measures to protect sensitive systems.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and OT governance standards.
* Manage user access, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
Continuous Improvement
* Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams (amongst others) to streamline workflows using digital solutions.
* Recommend technology upgrades that improve reliability, efficiency, and traceability in dairy production.
* Provide training and support for end users on OT tools.
What are we looking for?
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or related field.
* Experience of at least 5 years in OT support, preferably in manufacturing environments or food processing.
* Professional level of English to communicate with internal and external colleagues.
* Experience with MES, SCADA, PLCs, industrial networks, or OT platforms.
* Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP...) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Ignition...).
* Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (OPC, Modbus, MQTT).
* Familiarity with SQL databases, reporting tools, and industrial automation systems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Clear communication and documentation skills as well as ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Where will you work?
You will be based at our production facility in Salas, Asturias, working closely with the management team. While the primary location is in Asturias, occasional travel may be required.
