The Vodafone Internet of Things (IoT) suite of products and services are designed specifically to meet the needs of new and evolving business verticals.
Promote modern Engineering practices, tooling, and methodologies across platform engineering teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and evolving tech strategy.
Define and promote the right ways of working across engineering domains, cross engineering functions, other technology teams (Architecture, Technology Product, Delivery, Networks) and with business stakeholders.
Support demand management & prioritization within Platform Engineering team.
Drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Ensure that IoT Platform keeps evolving to reduce run costs, becoming more efficient and productive.
Support the delivery of improvement programmes across the engineering functions, including support for RPF/RFQ/RFIs.
Ensure alignment with business objectives and emerging IoT industry trends.
Define the baseline and target for cost‐efficiency targets, including resources and people.
Support and influence location strategy and insourcing/outsourcing steps to deliver platform engineering goals.
Support KTLO portfolio management, ensuring goals are delivered in time & form – this implies leading prioritization decisions in internal engineering and external forums.
Who You Are
Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Ten or more years of experience in Engineering or Operational functions.
A minimum of 5 years of leadership responsibilities, including strategy, budgeting, and leading talent.
Strong talent management skills including talent development, coaching, mentoring, and team motivation for geographically distributed teams.
Strong leadership capability with proven track record of successful cross‐team development and working effectively with all organizational levels.
Ability to effectively drive business, culture, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
Strong ability to build and maintain cross‐functional partnerships at all levels of the organization.
Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs, including the ability to differentiate between a relevant trend and hype.
Strong business acumen and ability to understand and drive business objectives.
Expertise in budget planning, financial management and workforce management.
Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and information management across the organization.
Expertise in strategic planning, governance formulation, and organizational change management.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
Strong organizational skills, including an ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
