The Role: 
We are currently recruiting for an Asset Manager to join a busy and dynamic team in Madrid (Spain) to support the Country Representative primarily in asset management and engage in other tasks including; underwriting, investment analysis, acquisitions and reporting. 
Working closely with the Investment and Asset Management Team, you will assist with asset management and oversee developments for the Iberian region. In addition, you will support with transaction activities, for example, the acquisition and sale of new assets in Spain and Portugal, and work with the wider European Real Estate Team.

Key Work Level Accountabilities:

Key Responsibilities for this role: 
- Assist with the implementation of existing asset strategies 
- Support in the property management, leasing management, capital expenditure, health & safety responsibilities and sustainability initiatives of the managed portfolio 
- Provide oversight of the investment pipeline to identify potential investment opportunities and assist with the initial screening using financial modelling 
- Collaborate and maintain regular reporting to the London based Fund Management team, Finance team and external valuation team 
- As appropriate, participate in selected site visits and meetings with tenants, property managers, letting agents, vendors and advisers 
- Support with - 
- the preparation of and tracking of asset plans and asset budgets; 
- compliance of policy and procedures; 
- presentation preparation; 
- accurate filing of all property related documentation; 
- monitoring of development projects. 
- In time, transition into providing support as part of the due diligence stage of selected acquisitions/sales, including participation in the selection and monitoring of external advisers, the production of reports, liaison with FM and relevant teams within M&G;, etc. 
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G;’s operational risk. 
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience: 
- A master’s in engineering, Architectures, Real Estate or other related disciplines. 
- 7-10 years’ experience working in Financial / Real Estate services. 
- Experience in Value-Add actions with preference for VA Funds would be strongly valued. 
- Fluency in Spanish and English is essential. Portuguese would also be an advantage. 
- Direct experience with developments, refurbishments for all commercial asset classes as well as a good understanding of the Residential, PRS and Student Housing asset class would be highly regarded.
