Job Description An opportunity for an ISR Mission Systems Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The engineer will be integrated into a team in charge of developing ISR Mission Systems for various aircraft such as C295, RPAS/UAS, FCAS, A400M, etc. The role focuses on system design—functional requirements, modeling, prototyping, subsystem specifications, ICDs, drawings, equipment integration—and supplier technical steering within a V‐shaped development framework.
Responsibilities include V&V activities, product laboratory validation, ground and flight testing support, and achieving full qualification and certification of the product.
Required Qualifications Technical profile (no management)
Expertise in ISR Mission and avionics disciplines
Experience in ISR missions such as maritime surveillance/patrol, antisubmarine warfare, AGS, EW, etc.
Knowledge of mission sensors and subsystems (electro‐optical, radar (SAR, MPR, etc.), SIGINT/ELINT/ESM/COMINT, AIS, PLS, computing platforms, etc.)
Experience with tactical datalinks (L16, VMF, L22, etc.) integration
Knowledge of displays, navigation systems, transponders, etc.
Experience with UAS and/or manned mission systems
Strong understanding of development and integration activities from requirements capture through verification and validation, including safety, quality assurance, and configuration control
Knowledge of procurement activities from supplier selection to control and monitoring
Proactiveness, good communication skills, assertiveness, and willingness to travel
Fluency in Spanish and English, both verbal and written
