The role is based in Madrid and leads Global Origination within Santander's Wholesale Banking Cash Management business. It carries global responsibility for originating and expanding relationships with large corporate and multinational clients, addressing complex domestic and cross‑border treasury needs. Successful candidates will define and execute the origination strategy, drive sustainable growth across cash management, payments, and liquidity solutions, and engage senior stakeholders to convert a robust pipeline into long‑term business. The position requires oversight of teams in Spain and functional coordination across more than ten countries.
Key Responsibilities

* Lead the global origination strategy for Cash Management within Wholesale Banking, focusing on large corporates and multinational clients.
* Drive revenue growth by maximizing existing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities across domestic and international markets.
* Build and manage a high‑quality origination pipeline, converting strategic opportunities into sustainable business.
* Originate and structure complex cash management, payments, and liquidity solutions tailored to multinational treasury requirements.
* Act as a senior relationship partner to key clients, engaging at C‑suite and senior treasury levels.
* Expand the bank’s footprint in multinational cash management, including cross‑border liquidity and payments solutions.
* Collaborate closely with Coverage, Product, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
* Ensure disciplined execution, strong risk awareness, and alignment with the bank’s governance and regulatory frameworks.
* Identify new sources of growth, including market opportunities, client segments, and innovative solution areas.
* Lead, develop, and inspire teams, providing functional leadership across more than ten countries.
Professional Experience
*
* Extensive experience in Wholesale Banking, Transaction Banking or Cash Management at a senior level.
* Proven track record managing and growing portfolios of large corporate and multinational clients.
* Deep expertise in domestic and international cash management, including payments, liquidity and treasury solutions.
* Strong understanding of cross‑border banking environments and multinational client needs.
* Demonstrated success in origination, business development and revenue generation in a complex, global setting.
* Experience leading senior teams and managing geographically distributed organisations.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management

* Established leader with the ability to manage, motivate and develop high‑performing teams across multiple locations.
* Skilled in influencing senior internal and external stakeholders, including executives, product specialists and risk partners.
* Collaborative approach with a strong ability to operate in a matrix organisation.
