Head of Sourcing CU WEU – Ericsson
Location: Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain (Primary city). Based in one of the CU WEU countries – final location confirmed during selection.
About the Role
Ericsson seeks a Head of Sourcing for Customer Unit West Europe (CU WEU) in Market Area EMEA. The role leads sourcing strategy across multiple countries, ensuring speed, cost‑effectiveness, and long‑term value creation. It is a key member of the EMEA Sourcing Leadership Team, reporting to the Head of Sourcing EMEA.
Key Responsibilities
* End‑to‑end sourcing accountability for all third‑party procurement (3PP), overseeing execution across teams.
* Collaborate with stakeholders and sourcing functions to translate product/customer solution requirements into strategies, manage sourcing plans, and drive cost and delivery performance.
* Manage total spend, drive cost, supplier efficiency, and quality in line with company profitability targets.
* Lead sourcing compliance & EHS agenda across the unit and supplier base, managing risk and implementing preventative actions.
* Promote business opportunities through optimized value extraction, supplier innovation, market insight, and sourcing strategies.
* Engage and support EMEA domains, sourcing category teams, and other stakeholders on sales opportunities and business readiness.
* Drive supplier business intelligence, benchmarking practice, and category market knowledge to establish a cost‑effective marketplace.
* Define and drive sourcing vision, strategy, and targets aligned with stakeholders and category strategies.
* Build a high‑performing team, setting efficient ways of working following Ericsson’s leadership framework.
* Uphold uncompromising integrity and act as an impartial party seeking the best solution for Ericsson.
* Demonstrate and model Ericsson core values, ethical and responsible business practices.
What You Will Bring
* Degree in Administration, Economics, Technology, or equivalent experience.
* 10+ years sourcing experience in various domains, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
* Deep experience in telecommunications.
* Proficiency in sourcing practice, process, and strategy.
* Proven leadership behaviors, including leading diverse, cross‑country teams.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Ability to influence internal and external partners and drive objective decision‑making.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel is required.
