We are now seeking an experienced and proactive Collections and Credit Control Manager to work alongside our Administration Manager to lead our collections and credit control department to play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the business.
**Position Overview**:
The Credit Control Manager will be responsible for working alongside the Administration Manager overseeing collections and the company's credit control function, ensuring timely collections, accurate account reconciliation, and the smooth operation of all billing and credit-related processes. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to implement effective credit strategies that balance customer relationships with company objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the credit control team.
- Develop and implement credit control policies, procedures, and best practices to optimise cash flow and reduce debt.
- Monitor aged debt reports and ensure prompt collection of outstanding balances.
- Review client accounts, allocate payments accurately, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding overdue payments, account queries, and payment arrangements.
- Work closely with the administration manager and legal departments to escalate and manage overdue or disputed accounts.
- Produce regular reports on debtor performance, cash collection, and risk exposure for senior management.
- Train, mentor, and motivate the credit control team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
- Support the Administration Manager, CEO, Accounts department and IT department with budgeting, forecasting, and credit risk analysis.
- Work with the IT department to maintain accurate and compliant financial records in accordance with company policy and data protection regulations.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in collections and credit control management or a similar senior finance role.
- Strong understanding of collections, credit control processes, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
- Proficient especially in Microsoft Excel and accounting/CRM systems.
- Ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally within the business.
- Fluent English essential
- A relevant qualification in finance, accounting, or business administration a bonus.
