Job Description:
About us: If you are looking for a challenging role within a development team at Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, and are interested in systems & software design related to military aircraft, you are welcome to our department. We are seeking a Software Architect for the Engineering Department TADMO7 (Transport A/C Mission Support Systems solutions). Our team develops and maintains mission support and planning systems for platforms like A400M, C295, and MRTT. These systems enable operation, evaluation, and development of military aircraft, especially in mission planning contexts. You will be part of an agile, multi-disciplinary team working on the Mission Planning & Restitution System (MPRS) in the A400M program, along with related technology projects.
Responsibilities:
* Define and implement software design, propose architectural solutions considering technical, operational, and business trade-offs.
* Ensure compliance with software development and quality standards, including security policies.
* Integrate activities into an agile development lifecycle, facilitate sprint planning and backlog refinement.
* Monitor and report team progress and risk metrics regularly.
* Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge to improve team skills.
* Contribute to departmental strategy with expertise on modern technologies, methods, and tools.
* Collaborate with international teams including product owners, managers, engineers, and design authorities to deliver optimal solutions and improve time-to-market.
Qualifications:
* University degree in a technical field such as computer science or telecommunications engineering.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
* Proficiency in C#; knowledge of C++ is a plus.
* Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including servers (Geoserver), engines (Carmenta), and protocols (WMS, WFS, WCS).
* Strong skills in software design patterns, ORMs (NHibernate preferred), and relational databases (SQL, Oracle).
* Familiarity with agile development processes, microservices, and modern tools like Git and Docker.
* Knowledge of mission and planning systems, with experience in A400M systems being advantageous.
* Proficiency in English and Spanish negotiation levels.
* Excellent communication skills, team-oriented, proactive attitude.
