How can you make a difference?
Under the guidance of the Head of Digital Governance & Platforms, the Web User Experience Lead is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and evaluating user experiences through user journeys, information architecture, and the overall design of digital products. The role also involves managing design operations to improve team productivity and creativity.
Summary of key functions :
* Oversee design and front-end development production
* Develop guidelines and standards for web design and UX
* Lead design conceptualization for digital products
* Support capacity building within the team
DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSIGNMENT :
* Manage design and front-end development teams, including vendors
* Define design specifications and ensure timely, quality delivery
* Ensure templates are well-designed and functional
* Build a network of trusted consultants for surge capacity
* Create and maintain web design guidelines and standards
* Coordinate cross-organizational design standards and style guides
* Advise on digital tool design implementation
* Develop reusable, accessible design systems
* Facilitate collaboration among designers, content producers, and developers
* Manage design team rituals and track operational KPIs
* Lead information architecture and editorial flow design
* Oversee resource selection such as graphics and multimedia
* Support communication strategies from a web design perspective
* Handle internal user support issues related to front-end design
* Stay updated on technical developments in design and UX
To qualify as an advocate for every child, you will have…
Education :
* An advanced university degree in web development, UX design, media, or related fields is required.
* Extensive training and experience in digital product design, UX, or communications.
* An undergraduate degree plus 2 years of professional experience in digital design fields.
Experience :
* Minimum five years in digital product or UX design, including three in developing countries, and two in management roles.
* Knowledge of User Experience, Information Architecture, and design systems.
* Proficiency with tools like Figma or InVision.
* Familiarity with development issues, UNICEF-related topics, and child rights is a plus.
Language Requirement :
* Fluency in English is required.
* Knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
