The Controls Field Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software products in the Controls Services Business portfolio. Customers are primarily within the Power Generation and Oil & Gas industries internationally, located both onshore and offshore.
Job Responsibilities:
* Install and commission Control Solutions hardware and software across various machine types in Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Fertilizers, and other process industries.
* Troubleshoot existing Control Solutions hardware and software installations on-site.
* Prepare field service jobs and interventions with project managers.
* Provide on-site technical assistance and training to customers as needed.
* Supervise subcontractors for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation tasks.
* Oversee cable laying, meggering, and connections.
* Lead loop check, commissioning, and perform functional tests.
* Manage unit start-up and performance tests, ensuring safe operation and troubleshooting control system issues.
* Maintain accurate timesheets and obtain customer signatures.
* Write detailed reports post-job completion.
* Maintain operational knowledge of Nexus Control Solutions hardware and software.
* Monitor site safety during tasks.
* Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
* Understand Terms and Conditions commitments.
* Input hours and expenses accurately into internal systems.
Qualifications:
* College degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, IT Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in Oil & Gas and Power Plant industries.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong troubleshooting skills with a hands-on approach.
* Knowledge of rotating equipment control philosophies and control systems.
* Experience with control panels, MCC, DCP, DCS, and fire systems.
* Familiarity with field devices and instruments.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings.
* Willingness to travel and work overtime.
* Valid driver's license and passport.
Desired Skills:
* Experience with MK Control Panel and Woodward Controls systems.
* Knowledge of computer networks and switches.
* Customer-focused attitude.
This is a remote, full-time position at mid-senior level, with relocation assistance not provided. The role involves significant travel and fieldwork in the Electric Power Generation industry.
