About the Role
The role of Commissioning Editor is to research, commission, and oversee the development of appropriate, quality print and digital Bachillerato content from concept development through to publication as specified in the Publishing Plan. The role involves commissioning authors and contributors and working closely with the Global Market Research team, Spain Secondary Portfolio Manager, and the CPMO Secondary team to support the development of strong concepts that showcase the Customer Value Proposition.
Role Responsibilities
1. Segment strategy and publishing planning
2. Attend positioning meetings and maintain awareness of company strategy and changes following market update meetings to support development of the Bachillerato segment.
1. Concept development
2. Carry out school visits and observations to inform concept development and product differentiation in line with the publishing plan and to ensure projects meet the Bachillerato publishing vision.
3. Monitor developments in the University Entrance Exam to develop materials that comply with the latest updates.
1. Content development
2. Commission and brief authors and contributors for the development of material, ensuring content meets the project specification and quality expectations.
3. Understand segment digital requirements and support the packager to develop digital products fulfilling segment needs and concepts.
4. Liaise with media and design outlets directly or via the packager to deliver excellent media content.
1. Budget/Financial/Resource Responsibility
2. Understand the Investment Approval process and contribute to IA documentation as required.
3. Be aware of the cost and schedule implications of all publishing processes.
4. Work with the Project Manager to plan external resources for timely delivery within the budget.

2. Support with packager selection based on project needs, assist in project planning, and oversee the packager's work to meet quality expectations.

2. Stay updated on ELT/EFL trends and issues, participate in training, and expand your industry network to support publication.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Essential
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Formal ELT/TEFL qualification & demonstrable ELT publishing experience at project leadership level.
* Knowledge of ELT markets and Spain Secondary and Bachillerato segments.
* Excellent written English.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
* Understanding of publishing technologies.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable
* Knowledge of a second language.
* Experience with content management systems.
* Experience working with new media.
* Experience of in-market research.
* Strong team-working and organizational skills.
