Contract - Immediate Start - End of Year
We are seeking a visionary Enterprise Architect specializing in Event‑Driven Architecture (EDA) to lead the design and evolution of our real‑time data ecosystem. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high‑level business strategy and deep technical execution, ensuring our global integration landscape is resilient, scalable, and secure. You will be the primary architect responsible for harmonizing a complex tech stack including {Solace, Kafka, AEM, and SAP}, while navigating rigorous InfoSec requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Architecture & Design
* Define and maintain the {EDA Logical and Physical Architecture} evaluating and implementing patterns such as {Hub-and‑Spoke}, {Event Broker Mesh}, and Pub/Sub topologies.
* Architect seamless event flows between core enterprise systems, specifically integrating SAP (ERP) and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) via asynchronous messaging.
* Develop the EDA Topology to ensure high availability and disaster recovery across hybrid‑cloud environments.
Compliance & Security (InfoSec Focused)
* Author EDA Technical Architecture documentation compliant with DEEP/PBoW standards to secure rapid InfoSec approvals.
* Design and enforce a robust EDA ACL (Access Control List) & RBAC (Role‑Based Access Control) model to ensure data sovereignty and ‘least privilege’ access to event streams.
* Collaborate with security teams to embed encryption and threat modeling into the fabric of the event mesh.
Governance & Standards
* Establish an EDA Governance Model that defines how teams produce, consume, and manage events across the enterprise.
* Standardize the EDA Taxonomy and Event Schemas (e.g., using CloudEvents or Avro) to ensure consistency, discoverability, and version control.
* Lead the ‘Architectural Review Board’ sessions for all new event‑driven use cases.
Technical Qualifications
* Messaging Middleware: Expert‑level experience with Solace PubSub+ (Event Mesh) and {Apache Kafka}.
* Enterprise Systems: Proven track record of integrating SAP (Idocs/OData to Events) and AEM (Content fragments/Events) into an EDA framework.
* Patterns: Deep understanding of Event Sourcing, CQRS, and Transactional Outbox patterns.
* Security Standards: Familiarity with DEEP/PBoW frameworks or similar enterprise‑grade security architecture methodologies.
* Documentation: Ability to translate complex mesh topologies into clear, auditable physical and logical diagrams.
Preferred Attributes
* Strategic Wit: Ability to explain to a stakeholder why a ‘Mesh’ is better than a ‘Star’ without using a single PowerPoint slide (though you’re great at those too).
* Pragmatism: Understanding that ‘perfect’ architecture is the enemy of ‘deployed’ architecture.
