Job Opportunity: Research Scientist in Rare Diseases
We are recruiting an outstanding candidate to participate in a project funded by the EU and other international and national institutions. Funding is already available for three years, with an initial salary range of 27,000-30,000€ depending on experience.
The candidate will participate in The European Rare Diseases Research Alliance (ERDERA), funded by the EU, which aims to improve the health and well-being of the 30 million people living with a rare disease in Europe. In particular, you will play a key role in developing RNA-based therapies, including CRISPR/Cas systems and antisense oligonucleotides for rare diseases such as Muscular Dystrophies. Our multidisciplinary group is dedicated to advancing biomedical research and developing novel therapies through cutting-edge approaches and interdisciplinary collaboration. We work closely with leading academic institutions, hospitals, and industry partners to translate discoveries into real-world medical advancements. We are recognized as a reference center for neuromuscular diseases affecting children and participate in clinical trials involving innovative therapies.

The candidate will have the opportunity to gain specialized knowledge in muscle biology and neuromuscular diseases, a rapidly growing field with numerous clinical trials in development. You will work in a thriving clinical research center equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in the European Rare Diseases Research Alliance (ERDERA), collaborating with major academic institutions and the pharmaceutical industry (https://erdera.org/).
* Conduct high-impact preclinical research on RNA and Lipid Nanoparticle-based therapies for neuromuscular diseases.
* Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, geneticists, and biotechnologists.
* Engage in technology transfer and explore translational applications of research.
* Mentor junior researchers and contribute to grant writing efforts.
