OmniAccess is part of Marlink Group, which is the global leader in smart network solutions, connecting people and assets worldwide, even in remote markets that cannot be reached with conventional connectivity. To drive Data Strategy, Governance and Data Quality at Group level, we are looking for a Data Governance & Strategy Lead, to join Data Governance & Strategy team.
In this role you are responsible to develop, maintain and enforce policies, standards and practices for programme, projects and day to day activities to ensure data quality, compliance, security and usability across data domains of Marlink Group.
This position is based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
Main responsibilities:
* Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards in support of the Marlink data strategy.
* Partner with business units and technical teams to define and embed data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across critical data domains.
* Define and manage data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring processes to ensure data integrity and reliability.
* Collaborate with data product managers and analytics teams to ensure governance practices are embedded in the lifecycle of data products and BI solutions and drive the data strategy of Marlink.
* Coordinate the Data Governance Forum and facilitate working groups to align stakeholders on data priorities, critical issues, and compliance requirements.
* Support regulatory and compliance initiatives (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, industry-specific regulations) by ensuring data governance controls meet external and internal requirements.
* Advocate for a data-driven culture by delivering training, communication, and change management activities related to data governance.
* Manage governance tools and technology (e.g., data catalogue, metadata management platforms).
Desired qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or information management roles.
* Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK), metadata management, master data management, and data quality principles.
* Hands-on experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Ataccama) and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
* Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
* Ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic execution.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (Databricks) is a plus.
