Development Economist (AI Training)
About The Role
We're looking for experienced development economists to help shape how AI understands integral and development economics. Your expertise will directly influence the accuracy, depth, and nuance of AI systems tackling some of the world's most complex economic challenges — from inequality and poverty to growth and global development policy.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your subject matter knowledge creates real, lasting impact.

What You'll Do
Review and evaluate AI-generated development economics content for accuracy, reasoning quality, and contextual nuance
Assess AI responses covering topics such as economic growth, poverty reduction, inequality, trade, and global development
Identify gaps, errors, or oversimplifications in AI-generated economic reasoning
Provide clear, structured feedback that helps AI systems improve their handling of complex real-world scenarios
Apply your academic or field experience to validate economic models, data interpretations, and policy discussions
Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Who You Are
3+ years of experience teaching, researching, or working in development economics
Strong grasp of global economic issues, including growth theory, inequality, international development, and related data
Able to critically evaluate written economic reasoning and identify subtle inaccuracies or conceptual flaws
Comfortable working through structured review tasks with consistency and precision
Self-motivated and reliable in an independent, remote work environment
Nice to Have
Graduate degree in Economics, International Development, or a related field
Experience working with NGOs, international policy organizations, or in field research
Familiarity with AI tools, content evaluation workflows, or data annotation platforms
