About the School – The British School of Barcelona (Castelldefels):
TheBritish School of Barcelona (BSB) is a great school in a wonderful location. Weare an HMC school and were judged by a recent BSO (British Schools Overseas)inspection to be outstanding in every area, including quality of education, safeguarding, pupil welfare and academic outcomes.
BSB is a large, very popular school for children aged 3to 18. Our curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, and we offera wide range of GCSEs, A levels, BTEC and the International BaccalaureateDiploma, all alongside a significant enrichment programme.
Over 2000 pupils from more than 74 nationalities attend the school and over 315staff work at BSB. We are based in three locations, two just outside the cityof Barcelona – in Castelldefels, where we have a Primary, Secondary andPre-University campus, and in the cosmopolitan town of Sitges, where we haveanother Primary campus. BSB City is in the heart of Barcelona itself with aFoundation campus (built September 2021), and a brand-new main campus, whichopened in September 2023.
In September 2026 we will be opening another campus, initially for EYFS andPrimary-aged students, north of Barcelona, in the Maresme area.
The growth of the school has been accompanied by significant investment overrecent years, including the building of a state‑of–the art Pre-UniversityCentre (Nexus), a full-sized 4G rugby and football pitch, dedicated STEAMfacilities and the new BSB City and Maresme campuses.

We are looking for a part‑time, temporary Primary Teacher for our BSBCastelldefels campus to work 4 days per week for one fixed year.
About the role:
As a teacher at BSB you will be expected to follow theguidelines set out in the Cognita Teaching Toolkit and will be required to:
* Deliver the primary curriculum, modelling outstanding practice, in an innovative and inspirational way.
* To have high expectations of all students and to track progress using ongoing formative assessment and observations of pupils.
* Summative assessments will be used to support overall teacher assessments.
* To maintain a positive learning climate in accordance with the school’s procedures and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour and standards of work.
* To assess students’ work in line with school policies and procedures, referring to student performance targets.
Other responsibilities include:
* To continue personal development and participate in the school’s staff development programme.
* To engage actively with the school’s performance management programme.
* To attend staff meetings, open evenings, and parents’ evenings.
* To attend morning assemblies and staff morning briefing unless on duty.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Bachelors Degree and QTS or internationalequivalent essential.
* Knowledge/experience: some experience in a primary school (ideally Britishcurriculum) but suitable also for someone recently qualified.
