Locations Available: Huelva, Spain
Contract: Day-Rate Contractor
On-Site: 5 days per week (some flexibility once established)
We're searching for a committed HSE Officer to support a major green industrial project in South Spain (coastal location).
This is a ~12-month assignment with an urgent start, ideal for someone who wants hands-on responsibility on site — not just sitting in front of spreadsheets pretending everything is fine.
The Role
As HSE Officer, you'll support the site HSE function day-to-day, working closely with construction teams and contractors to ensure safe execution, legal compliance, and a practical safety culture on site.
You'll be in the field often — spotting issues early, challenging unsafe behaviour, and helping the team do things the right way the first time.
Key Responsibilities
• Support implementation of the site HSE plan and procedures in line with Spanish & EU legislation
• Monitor works on site through regular inspections and walkdowns
• Assist with risk assessments, method statements and PTWs
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings when required
• Record, report and follow up on incidents, near misses and unsafe acts
• Support audits, internal reviews and compliance checks
• Help build a proactive "stop and think" culture across teams and subcontractors
Profile
• Minimum 4 years' experience in HSE on industrial or construction sites
• Solid understanding of Spanish HSE regulations and EU directives
• Experience in heavy xohynlm industry, energy projects, manufacturing or large construction environments
• Comfortable working in fast-moving, multi-contractor sites
• Strong communication skills — able to challenge respectfully (and consistently)
• Professional level of Spanish and English
• EU right to work required
Location & Conditions
• South Spain – coastal region
• Approx. 12-month contract
• Standard working hours per Spanish legislation
• Local candidates preferred; rotation possible for EU-based profiles
