Project Description
At the Telco Hub in Madrid, we merge IT and Telco, building and scaling Telco as a Platform (TaaP) on our proprietary layered cloud. The MID Squad (11 team members) holds end-to-end responsibility for mobile internet access including DDOS, converged mobile and fixed internet access, and the business customer IPSec gateway. These platforms are part of the critical infrastructure and central core components of our German network. The team is responsible for the entire lifecycle and further development. We are looking for three System Engineers to join our MID IPSec platforms. The IPSec platform realizes the IPSec tunnels for our business customers. You will work closely with our supplier and customers to design, integrate, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot the IPSec platform.
Activity description and concrete tasks
* Implementation and operation of the physical Juniper MX480 system platform.
* Analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation of system malfunctions.
* Identification, documentation, and structuring of new test use cases.
* Adoption of scripts and configuration parameters within the CI/CD chain.
* Rollout management throughout the entire application lifecycle.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable end-to-end system functionality.
* Management of external suppliers and customer interaction during troubleshooting.
Qualifications
Mandatory skills:
* Expert Know-how in Juniper Router (MX series) & Junos OS with certification in Enterprise Routing and Switching (JNCIS-ENT).
* Expert Know-how in IPSec configuration, troubleshooting and debugging, preferably on Junos OS.
* Expert Know-how in routing protocols (and troubleshooting) especially BGP, MPLS, OSPF, IPv6, QoS, including analysis with Wireshark and Netscout.
* Automation and optimization of operational tools and processes, with tools such as Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, ELK, CheckMK and Grafana.
* Programming skills in scripting/programming languages (e.G., Bash, Python, Jinja2) and RESTful APIs.
* Experience in operation of business-critical network applications according to ITILv3, preferably in a telecommunications environment.
Optional skills:
* Very good analytical skills combined with strong quality awareness.
* Experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation.
