Intern, Software Engineering - Payments Platform
At Flywire, you will work on our Payments Platform, a global network that handles high‑value transactions across 240 countries. The internship is 6 weeks, embedded in a platform delivery team, working on a high‑impact project.

The Role: Project-Driven & Supported
As a Fly‑tern, you will be embedded within a Platform delivery team. You’ll participate in team rituals, but your primary focus will be a specific, high‑impact project designed for your 6‑week journey. A mentor (senior engineer) and a manager will support your technical and professional growth.
What You’ll Work On
Possible domains include:
* Core Money Movement: Backend logic (Ruby/Java) to track funds, currency exchange, and global ledger.
* Banking & Network Integrations: APIs and integrations that connect Flywire to financial institutions worldwide.
AI-Augmented Engineering
During the internship you will learn to use AI tools such as Claude Code, CodexCursor, and GitLab CI to accelerate development.
Here’s What We’re Looking For
* Current 4th year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or a related double degree.
* Familiarity with React for frontend projects or Ruby/Java for backend projects.
* Solid grasp of data structures, SQL, and TDD.
* Curiosity about large‑scale systems and enjoyment of building reusable tools.
* Fluency in Spanish and strong working command of English.
* Experience or exposure to Ruby on Rails, Spring Boot, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines.
