About TAD
TAD is a growing biotech company located in the Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Bizkaia. We specialize in developing innovative preclinical models and technologies that bridge the gap between research and real-world biomedical applications. With a multidisciplinary team of 14 professionals, we combine scientific rigor with a strong entrepreneurial mindset to bring meaningful discoveries closer to patients.
About The Project
We have recently been awarded a Public-Private Collaboration (CPP) research grant funded by the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI). This three-year collaborative project with leading academic partners aims to develop a commercial model for measuring human red blood cell fragility in humanized mice in vivo. At TAD, our role focuses on translating this research into a sustainable commercial and scientific line in experimental hematology by the end of the project — a foundation for future growth within the company.
About The Role
We are seeking a Research Scientist in Hematology (PhD) to join our R&D team. The position is initially funded for three years through the CPP project, with the clear intention of establishing a long-term research and business area under your leadership. You will work closely with a dynamic multidisciplinary team and collaborate with international pharmaceutical partners and research institutions.
Key Responsibilities
 * Design and conduct experiments on experimental hematology and red blood cell fragility in humanized murine models.
 * Perform and interpret flow cytometry analyses and related assays.
 * Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure scientific excellence and commercial viability of the model.
 * Contribute to publications, reports, and potential commercialization pathways.
 * Help define the strategic direction of TAD's future hematology research unit.
Requirements
 * Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) obtained or to be awarded before November ****.
 * Strong background in hematology with hands‑on experience in murine models.
 * Experience with flow cytometry; ability to interpret results.
 * Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written) — the role involves interaction with international pharma collaborators.
 * Proactive mindset, scientific integrity, and interest in translating research into real‑world impact.
What We Offer
 * A meaningful scientific challenge with real career prospects beyond the project.
 * The opportunity to build and lead a new research line in experimental hematology within a growing biotech company.
 * A collaborative and agile environment with close interaction between science and business development.
