We are a leading renewable energy developer with a strong pipeline of solar PV, wind, and hybrid projects across Spain. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Grid Connection Manager to support the successful delivery of utility-scale projects by managing grid access and connection processes.
Role OverviewThe Grid Connection Manager will be responsible for securing and managing grid connection agreements for renewable energy projects. You will act as the key interface between internal project teams, grid operators (REE and distribution system operators), and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the grid connection strategy for solar, wind, and storage projects across Spain
Manage the full lifecycle of grid connection applications (access & connection permits)
Act as the main point of contact with REE (Red Eléctrica de España) and DSOs
Coordinate grid studies, including load flow, short circuit, and grid impact assessments
Review and negotiate connection agreements and technical conditions
Monitor regulatory changes related to grid access and ensure compliance
Collaborate with development, engineering, and construction teams to align grid requirements
Manage timelines, risks, and budgets associated with grid connection activities
Support due diligence processes for project financing and acquisitions
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or similar
5+ years of experience in grid connection, power systems, or renewable project development
Strong knowledge of the Spanish grid code and access regulations
Experience working with REE and/or Spanish DSOs
Familiarity with power system analysis tools (e.g., PSSE, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory)
Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills
Fluent in Spanish and English
Experience with hybrid projects (solar + storage / wind + storage)
Knowledge of European grid connection frameworks
Background in high-voltage infrastructure or substations
