Moco Museum, short for Modern & Contemporary Museum, is dedicated to making art accessible to all. Founded in 2016 by Kim and Lionel Logchies, the independent museum features a diverse collection of modern, contemporary, and digital art. With locations in Amsterdam (2016), Barcelona (2021), and London (2024), Moco exhibits iconic works by celebrated artists and emerging talents. The museum’s collection includes works by Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Banksy, KAWS, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst, Yayoi Kusama and Studio Irma. With over 5 million visitors, Moco engages visitors with its thought-provoking exhibitions.
What You Will Do
Join us in a unique opportunity to work at Moco Museum as a Moco Museum Host or Floor Personnel. You will provide a welcoming environment for museum-goers, offer information and assistance about exhibitions, and ensure the safety and security of the artworks on display. Your exceptional customer service, enthusiasm, and attentiveness create a memorable experience that encourages return visits and invites visitors to recommend the museum to friends and family. You will also support opening and closing procedures, assist at special events, and, if applicable, conduct visitor and education tours depending on interest.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcome visitors and provide information related to the museum, exhibitions, displays and services, plus general information (directions, tourist suggestions, etc.).
* Act as first point of contact for all museum visitor inquiries.
* Host at the museum gate entrances to attract, welcome and attend museum visitors.
* Sell/scan tickets while promoting the use of the audio tour.
* Monitor museum areas to ensure the security of exhibition artworks and that visitors do not touch or endanger works of art.
* Monitor cleanliness and overall tidiness of the museum.
* Provide excellent customer experience by interacting with visitors in a welcoming and friendly manner.
* Develop knowledge of the collections and exhibitions on display.
* Support routine opening and closing of the museum.
* Assist at special functions, events and visits.
* If applicable, conduct visitor and education tours (subject to interest and assignment).
* Perform other ad-hoc duties as requested by Duty Managers and/or General Manager.
Requirements
* Spanish, Catalan, English; French is a must.
* Flexibility to work morning or evening shifts and weekends (the museum is open 365 days a year).
* Previous work experience in customer service is required.
* Ability to work well with others in a dynamic team; a true team player.
* Creative, curious and takes initiative.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Enthusiastic and knowledgeable in modern and contemporary art is a plus, not a must.
* Eligible to work in Spain.
