At Hitachi Energy, we are investing to establish and develop an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid, Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU). We seek highly qualified engineers in Power Electronics, Grid Integration, and R&D to join us in this exciting opportunity.

Supporting the green energy transition, Hitachi Energy's Power Electronics Solutions Team offers technologies that enhance resilience, stability, and capacity of the power grid.
Our European business has over 1,400 professionals across 17 countries. Diversity fosters innovation and collaboration. As part of the Spanish Operation Centre, you will support project execution, including design, manufacturing, and delivery of technologies across Europe.
How You'll Make An Impact
* Lead and coordinate the primary (electromechanical) scope to ensure the integrity and functionality of substation systems, including design support and equipment implementation.
* Prepare and review technical specifications and validate equipment.
* Ensure 3D design/models, coordinate and resolve civil and electromechanical interferences.
* Make technical recommendations during design, engineering, and execution to meet standards.
* Support project claims related to scope changes, assessing impacts and risks, maintaining customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with engineering colleagues to share best practices, develop leadership, and uphold safety, integrity, and quality values.
Your Background
* Bachelor's in electrical engineering or related field
* Experience in electromechanical substation design (AIS or GIS)
* High Voltage Apparatus knowledge
* BIM/3D methodology experience
* Strong safety commitment, self-motivated, curious about new technologies
* Collaborative, solutions-oriented, with good communication skills, knowledge of power systems, renewables, transmission
* Fluent in English; additional languages appreciated
Willing to travel: 10% of the time.
