At EBRO, a fast-growing automotive OEM in the Spanish market, software integrity, traceability, and update management are critical to ensuring vehicle safety, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Software Management Engineer is responsible for the operational management of vehicle ECU software, ensuring proper version control, regulatory compliance (R156), and effective software update deployment — including OTA (Over-The-Air) operations. This position is not focused on vehicle performance validation, but rather on the structured management, coordination, and governance of vehicle software throughout its lifecycle. Based in Barcelona. Key Responsibilities: 1. ECU Software Management · Manage the lifecycle of software installed in vehicle electronic control units (ECUs). · Ensure version control, traceability, and integrity of all software releases. · Coordinate software releases across internal teams and external stakeholders. · Guarantee compliance with R156 regulation and internal After Sales standards. 2. Software Updates & OTA Operations · Support and manage software update processes, including OTA updates when applicable. · Verify software release documentation and update packages. · Identify, coordinate, and resolve incidents related to software updates. · Monitor OTA deployment status and ensure proper execution. 3. Documentation & Regulatory Compliance · Document all software changes according to regulatory requirements (R156). · Maintain accurate and structured software records. · Prepare test reports and project status updates. · Ensure audit readiness regarding software traceability. 4. Cross-Functional Coordination · Work closely with SUMS, Diagnostics, Engineering, and After Sales teams. · Coordinate resolution of software-related issues in vehicles. · Provide structured reporting on software management activities. Required Qualifications: Education · Degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar. · Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken). Experience · 2-3 years of experience in software management within the automotive sector. · Experience in software update processes. · Exposure to OTA (Over-The-Air) updates is highly valued. · Knowledge of automotive electronic architectures (ECUs).
