We are recruiting on behalf of a major cruise company that is looking for Sous Chefs to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable organization offering great benefits and career growth.
As a Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in overseeing the entire culinary operation onboard.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring the smooth preparation and service of all food items according to company standards, maintaining quality, consistency, and food cost efficiency.
* Ensuring all employees arrive on time, dressed in clean, company-specified uniforms, and wearing safety equipment if appropriate.
* Planning, scheduling, and following up on work shifts for all kitchen staff.
* Providing ongoing training to galley employees.
* Directing, motivating, controlling, evaluating, and providing feedback to the team.
* Assisting in the production of weekly food orders based on inventory, par levels, guest count, and budgets.
* Monitoring thaw cycles for frozen items to ensure safety and quality.
* Ensuring all loaded items meet company standards.
Position Requirements:
* A degree in culinary arts, hotel administration, or an equivalent from a reputable institution.
* Alternatively, an associate degree in culinary arts with relevant work experience.
* 3 to 5 years of supervisory and managerial experience in professional kitchens, preferably in upscale hotels or large cruise ships.
* Minimum of 2 years as a sous chef in a 3-5 star hotel, resort, or convention center, or 2 years as a sous chef with a comparable cruise line.
