POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accountant in the Credit and Collections area is responsible for credit evaluation, accounts receivable management, and debt recovery. This role ensures the accuracy of financial records, implements effective credit policies, and optimizes collection processes to improve the company's liquidity. You will collaborate with finance teams to optimize cash management strategies and generate ad hoc reports related to C&C functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collect, compile, analyze, and verify financial data, invoices, or other information to ensure the integrity of accounting records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
2. Prepare analysis and schedules supporting financial statements and disclosures.
3. Review analysis and schedules for payment proposals within the Treasury organization.
4. Review journal entries, transactions, general ledger, account reconciliation, and government reports.
5. Identify and implement cost-saving and process improvement measures.
6. Serve as a resource or lead to less experienced accountants, providing training and mentorship.
7. Ensure the integrity of financial transactions with internal and external stakeholders and support internal/external audits.
8. Maintain compliance with government requirements in invoicing processes.
9. Support accounting processes, system enhancements, and LATAM standards.
10. Follow standard business processes across accounting functions, ensuring controls and documentation are maintained.
11. Approve reconciliation of bill of runs to detect possible fraud.
12. Utilize systems/tools like Excel, SAP, PowerBI effectively.
13. Provide accounting advice to leadership as needed.
14. Document, update, internal procedures, and lead special projects when required.
15. Collaborate with internal/external customers, third parties, and project teams to adhere to AP/AR processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
* CPA preferred.
* At least three (3) years of accounting/finance experience.
* Fluency in English & Spanish (speaking & writing).
